Capstone Alliance is the registered campus organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and allied faculty, staff, and graduate students at The University of Alabama.
Our mission to make the University of Alabama community safe, supportive, and welcoming to all identities. In pursuit of that mission, Capstone Alliance works to:
Build Community
- Provide networking opportunities and social events for our members and other campus and community organizations that support the mission of Capstone Alliance.
- Support the professional development of our members and other allied faculty, staff, and graduate students.
- Foster the intellectual development and advancement of the University of Alabama’s LGBTQ+ identified undergraduate students.
Conduct Outreach
- Develop both curricular and co-curricular programs that enhance the knowledge and understanding of LGBTQ+ community.
- Promote the welfare and safety of LGBTQ+ identified community members.
Pursue Advocacy
- Work with administration, faculty, students, and other campus entities to address situations that negatively impact the LGBTQ+ community.
- Create spaces on campus to engage in dialog about the challenges experienced by members LGBTQ+ community at UA.
